Reliability and Precision of in Vivo Scapular Kinematic Measurements Using an Electromagnetic Tracking Device

چکیده
Context: In vivo scapular kinematics during humeral movements are commonly assessed with electromagnetic tracking devices despite few published data related to reliability and precision of these measurements. Objective: To determine the intrasession reliability and precision of assessing scapular kinematics using an electromagnetic tracking device. Design: Scapular position and orientation were measured with an electromagnetic tracking device during humeral elevation/ depression in several planes. Intrasession reliability and precision were established by comparing 2 trials performed in succession. Setting: A human-movement research laboratory. Participants: 15 healthy individuals. Main Outcome Measures: Intrasession intraclass correlation coefficients and standard error of measure- ment of all scapular variables were established. Results: The mean intrasession reliability for all variables was ICC = .97 ± .03. The mean intrasession precision was .99° ± .36°. Conclusions: In vivo scapular kinematics can be measured with high reliability and precision during intrasession research designs.

Validation of a video-based motion analysis technique in 3-D dynamic scapular kinematic measurements.
BACKGROUND Current non-invasive 3-D scapular kinematic measurement techniques such as electromagnetic tracking are subjected to restrictions of wired sensors and limited capture space. Video-based motion analysis provides greater freedom with relatively less movement restriction. However, video-based motion analysis was rarely used in and not validated for scapular kinematics. METHODS Scapula...
متن کاملWater Velocity Measurements in Open Channels Using Volumetric Current Meter (VCM)
An innovative Volumetric Current Meter (VCM) was designed in order to allow quick velocity measurements in open channels. At first, the coefficient of velocity (Cv) of the device was determined through calibration under different water velocities in the laboratory. The measurement performance was verified by measurements performed in similar flows in irrigation channels using an ordinary curren...

This paper presents a model-based control design for trajectory tracking of two-wheeled mobile robots based on Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) optimal control. The model proposed in this article has been implemented on a computational model which is obtained from kinematic and dynamic relations of KHEPERA IV. The purpose of control is to track a predefined reference trajectory with the best po...

Background and Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of scapular-focused treatment with (SFTF) and without (SFT) feedback on pain, function, and scapular kinematics in patients with Shoulder Impingement Syndrome (SIS). Materials and Methods: 36 males and females with SIS (age of 37 ± 6.3 years) were randomly assigned into SFTF (n=12), SFT (n=12) and control (n=12) groups. The primary o...
متن کاملEffects of sex differences on scapular motion during arm elevation
INTRODUCTION Scapular motion during arm elevation is frequently evaluated in patients with shoulder disorders because it provides clinically useful information. With the development of measurement devices and improvement in accuracy, comparisons under various conditions have recently been reported. However, in most of these reports, the subjects examined were limited to males, or a mixed popula...
